One of my favorite things about Dragonball Z- young Trunks and Goten. So when I saw this sprite of them fighting to the death (OK, not exactly), I knew that this image would become my bead spriting magnum opus. Unfortunately, at the time I hadn’t enough physical space to work on such a large sprite, nor did I have enough pegboards to lay it down on.
But now I finally do! So here is a work-in-progress shot of this project. Trunks is ALMOST finished. It’s taken a lot of color customizing to be able to work with this, since I couldn’t find a suitable color by Perler to make Trunks’ gi. And I’ll be darned if I could find the right purple combination for his hair. But being “crafty” with this, I think it will turn out great.

So we’ve been making more sprites like crazy- mostly from Dragonball / Dragonball Z. We’ve been watching the Anime like… straight through in marathons since we’ve never actually seen all of DBZ. Everyone seemed to like the DBZ characters we had at CPAC, so it’s time to restock! Enjoy!

Young Gohan from Dragon Ball Z
Er, while you may have to squint a bit, this is a bead sprite of young Gohan from the beginning of Dragon Ball Z, and probably the first in an onslaught of Dragon Ball/DBZ sprite from yours truly. So if you abhor DBZ, er… I’m sorry! This sprite is pretty tiny, but nonetheless adorable if you ask me. And what’s even better, it doesn’t cry incessantly like the real thing! *thumbs up*

Hey, JJ and I had a great time at CPAC 2009 in the Artist Alley! We are dog tired though, phew! It was great meeting so many neat people and other awesome artists. We had to say good-bye to A LOT of our sprites; we were really surprised at the great response we had. We were even interviewed! We were very flattered and look forward to seeing everyone again next year. Many many thanks to everyone who visited our table and bought our sprites! We will be working very, very hard to make lots more to share with everyone at AnimeNext!

Castle Point Anime Convention
This weekend, we’ll be participating in the Castle Point Anime Convention Artist Alley! Geek Mythology will be at table A13, and we will have tons of bead sprites!
