Geek Mythology Crafts Bead Sprite commissions are open!
Commissions will remain open until Thursday, July 22nd.
Here is just a run-down of what sort of commissions we are doing:
Fan Art & Original Character Chibishous – Base Price: $15

Chibishous are character sprites that are not found in any game – we have CUSTOM-designed each one! Chibishous are approximately 10 inches tall, and generally 4 to 5 inches wide depending on the character. Additional details such as complex hair or wings etc, cost an additional $3 to the base price.
We can create also your original character as a Chibishou!
Click here to fill our out Chibishou Commission Form.
Regular Sprites – Base Price: Varies

We can create characters sprites of various shapes and sizes. This can be a sprite taken directly from a sprite-based video game, or we can custom-design one from a reference image, or create a character from scratch. This includes your own original characters! We can create wall art: large scene, collage, or character portraits that are often shaped in a square or a rectangle for easy framing or decorating. Most wall art is at least 12″x12″, but we can make them larger. Other types of bead sprite items are available, such as coasters, key chains, necklaces and magnets.

New Bead Sprite Design: Chibishou Midis!

Greetings Geek Mythologists!
Well, I’ve been working a lot on our custom “Chibishou” bead sprites. I’m coming up with new designs for our shop and to unveil at Otakon this year! If you don’t know by now, Kid Trunks and Goten from Dragonball Z are two of my favorite characters– I wanted to make Chibishous of them but I realized Kid Trunks will pretty much look exactly like my adult Trunks Chibishou design, and Goten will look embarrassingly close to the adult Goku Chibishou I designed if I make the kids the same sizes as the adults! What to do… what to do…
I guess I’ll just have to invent a new type of Chibishou! So here is our first “Chibishou Midi”!
I’ve put little Trunks next to Ike for size comparison. Ike is about 10″ tall (like most of our Chibishous) while little Trunks is closer to 8.5″. It’s a small height reduction, but I’ve also reduced the width and proportions to make them easily differentiated from their “older brother” Chibishous, to emphasize a smaller or younger character. And of course, smaller size means smaller price!
In the works is also a “Chibishou Mini”, which will just be bite-sized versions of all of our characters, regardless of actual height or age.
Chibishou Midis will be making their way to our Chibishou store soon as well as make their official debut at Otakon! We hope you’ll enjoy our new Chibishous!

AnimeNext 2010 Complete!
Greetings all!
It took us about a week to recover from last weekend’s AnimeNext Artist Alley! Unfortunately we both caught SOMETHING and are pretty darn sick this week. -_-
But all that aside, thanks so much to everyone who visited Geek Mythology Crafts’ table in the Artist Alley. We had probably the most fun that we’ve had yet and it was very nice to see so many familiar faces this year! Hopefully we’ll be able to make it to AnimeNext 2011.
Our Chibishous did very well- we sold out of the 32 that we had available! You can bet that I’ll be designing many more new characters for Otakon and beyond!
For those who are curious, our website is STILL under construction, but commmissions are OPEN! You can request a commission of a Chibishou or other bead sprite at: http://www.geekmythologycrafts.com/commissions/index.php
Meanwhile we’ll be hard at work restocking the web store and will be getting ready for Otakon! See you there!

New Custom Chibishou Bead Sprites!
Chibishous are a project I’ve been working on for a while now. These particular sprites do not appear in any game– they were custom-designed by Geek Mythology Crafts and are only available from us at conventions, at our website, www.geekmythologycrafts.com and at our Etsy Store.
Aside from that, we will be debuting these bead sprites at AnimeNext in a few weeks! We hope everyone will enjoy them as much as we do.
Currently we aren’t taking commissions due to conventions coming up, but after the hustle slows we can make custom Chibishous of your original characters, and can take requests for characters that you don’t see on our site!

Etsy Item: Super Mario Bros. Piranha Plant Bead Sprite

For sale at our Etsy Shop is a Piranha Plant Bead Sprite from Super Mario Bros. 3, complete with green “pipe”. This hungry guy is made from Perler beads and a painted terracotta pot. These will be available at our future convention art tables as well as through Etsy. They will be $15 at conventions, and you can save a buck by purchasing one online for $14. Check them out here!
Don’t have a green thumb? Not to worry! Take home one of these semi-harmless potted Piranha plants from Super Mario Bros! They are constructed with Perler Beads and have the same hungry-looking design on both sides. They come in their very own green “pipe” made from a terra cotta pot coated in acrylic paint. They are embedded in brown shredded paper and are removable from their pot, so you can “plant” them elsewhere if you like. When you want to put the Piranha back in its pot, simply remove the shredded paper, stick ‘im back in, and work the paper around the stick at the bottom of the sprite. Pack him in tightly and he’s ready to stand on his own roots again! These bead Piranhas don’t require any maintenance or water! Best of all- they don’t bite!

Hey, Hey, Street-o Fighta

Zounds! An update! Well, sort of.
We made these Street Fighter bead sprites several months ago for 2009′s Gamecore Convention. Sadly only Ken sold. That priviledged jerk! *ahem* Well, in any event, we forgot to photograph him… Oops. But here for your viewing delite, we have Bison, Guile, Akuma, Chun-Li, Zangief, Dan, Ryu, and Sakura.
These sprites are from the Neo-Geo Pocket game SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millenium. The sprites in this game are monochromatic, so JJ and I recolored them to fit each character’s color scheme.
We will have these availabe at this year’s Castle Point Anime Convention, along with some characters from SNK & Darkstalkers. Stay tuned to see how they turned out!
